Annual Booster Mulch Sale on March 27.

What's good for your lawn and garden is good for RM! Order your spring mulch from RM, and help out your favorite teams! The young women and men of RM's athletic teams, as well as volunteers from the Boosters and the RM community work very hard to make our major fundraiser a success. You can do your part by volunteering your time, hands, or equipment (trucks and drivers especially needed), donating (money, food/water, or services), or ordering lots of mulch for your landscape and garden. Click on "Mulch Sale" on the menu at left or click HERE to go to the mulch sale page. Contact Cheryl Hoover at mulch@rmboosters.org

Booster Club Congratulates 2009-2010 Boys Basketball Team and Fans

On behalf of the RMHS Booster Club, I would like to congratulate the Richard Montgomery Boys Basketball team for it's hard fought performance against Springbrook on Saturday. The 10 point loss can in no way put a damper on a season when this senior laden team only has 3 losses all year. Coach Spear and his staff did a great job with the team and should be commended. In addition, the fan support at the championship game showed everyone in the county the real spirit that our school possesses. Students, parents, alumni, and staff filled the stands with Richard Montgomery pride. Our school supports a winner! My congratulations and thanks goes out to all that attended and supported our team!

- Kevin Brooks
President, RMHS Booster Club

1/25/10 - Congratulations to Sam Martin, who broke the RM indoor track record in the 800 meter, and Samantha Smith who broke the RM indoor track record she had just set on 1/9/10 in the triple jump and the 55 meter hurdles. Way to go!

Raise the Rocket Campaign

For many years, Richard Montgomery High School proudly exhibited our ROCKET mascot in front of the old school. To make room for the new school, our rocket (an actual 1950's era Nike Ajax missile) was deinstalled and stored. Three years later, the RM Boosters (with help from the kind folks at the Gaithersburg High School auto shop) had our rocket cleaned and repainted.

Due to the generosity of our donors, RM's Rocket was unveiled on November 6 at the RM homecoming game.

Thank you for helping us to restore this important symbol to our community!

Major funding for the installation of the RM Rocket was provided by generous donations from the following individuals and organizations.

The Kitzinger Family
RM Athletic Booster Club
Dr. Ignacio and Joan Rodriguez
Richard Montgomery High School
RMHS Cluster Educational Foundation
RMHS Class of 1973
(who offer a challenge to the other alumni classes
to support RMHS and keep school spirit high)

The RM Athletic Booster Club would also like to give a special thank-you to the following:

  • Standard Supply Company of Gaithersburg for providing the fabrication and steel for the Rocket.
  • RM parent Gary Strand, P.E. for providing structural drawings and invaluable assistance in the installation process.
  • The DIGITS! (Rockville's Rock Band) and Austin Grill in Town Center for hosting the Raise the Rocket fundraiser on September 26, 2009. Thanks to all who contributed.
  • Former RM PTSA President Linda Stern-Siegel and her family for storing the Rocket in their garage.
  • RM parent Tim Jones for providing his flatbed trailer and volunteering to help transport the Rocket.
  • Gaithersburg High School's auto shop, at the direction of Mike Horton for cleaning and painting the Rocket.
