So you are the parent of a ‘junior’ student and you’ve been asked to host ‘Senior Night’…cue the dramatic music…..

Here are some helpful hints.

  1. As of 2022 the Boosters will provide teams $20.00 per Senior for trinkets, mementos, decorations or food- however the parent volunteer wants to spend it on the event. Typically, the allotment is for the Senior, but you’ll understand what suits your team best. See ideas from prior “Senior Nights” below. Please turn in receipts to the Booster Treasure for reimbursement.

  2. We have vertical banners for the parents and Senior to walk through. Makes a nice photo op. Contact president@rmboosters.org to have us get it out of storage! Saves from having to install and pay for copious amounts of balloons.

  3. We have a couple of references for companies that produce posters and take photographs. Our advice is to keep it simple. For some teams, the underclassmen do something special for the Seniors. This is magical! Students are creative and know their teammates best! :) It is organized by the team. Check with the coach; plans may already be percolating! This effort is usually in addition to what the parents do.

(FYI…the Boosters don’t contribute to end of season banquets.)

Programs- If you decide to do these they typically have a little bio of the Senior, maybe the team’s record, definitely mention and thank the competitor, and a mention the coaches. (Coaches may even want to contribute.)

We have asked Seniors for content. For example:

What was your favorite team memory?

When did you start playing?

What do you want to do after high school?

These are only examples! Remember to celebrate and try not to stress. :)

Players and parents of Seniors will greatly appreciate your effort!
